How One Illinois District Strengthened Math Outcomes Across Diverse Learners

Marquardt School District 15 knew they needed a dedicated math fluency solution, but not just any tool — they needed one that could raise achievement among all learners, as well as keep students engaged. Even with their previous fluency tool in place, teachers were seeing persistent gaps in foundational skills.

That's when district leadership made the decision to pilot BlueStreak Math, first with third grade students, where gaps in foundational fluency were most glaring.

The impact was profound. Students who participated in the initial rollout showed the largest IAR math gains of any grade level in the district, and Marquardt saw meaningful improvements in overall IAR designations across schools. District leadership credited the consistency and intentional use of BlueStreak as a key factor in those outcomes.

Based on that success, Marquardt expanded its use of BlueStreak beyond grade 3, bringing the program into grades 2–5 for Tier I and interventions, and extending it into middle school interventions, as well. The district continues to use BlueStreak more intentionally year over year, building on the results they’ve already seen.
